Our Services

Hot Lunches

Hot lunches are served at Church of the Crossroads on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 to 1pm, with sign in beginning at 11am.  Volunteers prepare a delicious and healthful meal for clients to enjoy in a relaxed and social environment.  Lunches are generally closed the first week of every month, but check our client calendar to verify the dates.

Grocery Distribution

Groceries are distributed at Church of the Crossroads on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:30pm, though clients are permitted to pick up only once per week.  Each distribution consists of meat or fish, milk, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, canned goods, dry goods and either cheese, eggs or butter, which are offered on rotating weeks. Rides home are available to those who do not have transportation and are unable to carry their groceries on the bus.  Distribution is generally closed the first week of every month, but check our client calendar to verify the dates.    For those who work during regular FoodBasket hours, we offer a monthly grocery distribution the Wednesday following delivery day from 7-8pm.    Please contact us to sign up for this monthly pick up.

Grocery Delivery

Groceries are delivered the first Tuesday of every month to our clients who are too sick to pick them up themselves or live outside of Honolulu. Each delivery consists of meat or fish, milk, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, canned goods, dry goods, cheese, eggs, butter and toilet paper.  Please check our client calendar to verify the dates and contact us to sign up for the program.

Vitamins & Supplements

Each client is entitled to a non-cumulative $25 credit toward vitamins and supplements per month.  Orders must be placed by the 25th of each month by emailing Vitamin Coordinator Jim Lucas at vitamins@thefoodbasket.org, calling Operations Manager Tony Nikae at 779-7284, or filling out an order form at the registration desk.  Orders are available for pick up or delivery the following month with your groceries.  Co-payments must be paid at the time of pick up or delivery. Orders that are not claimed by the end of the month will be absorbed into inventory.

Toiletry Distribution

Twice a year, the FoodBasket hosts a toiletry distribution day, where clients are invited to pick up soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. at Church of the Crossroads.  Unfortunately, we are not able to offer delivery of these goods, nor do we have the capacity to store the leftovers for clients who are unable to attend at that time.  Toiletry distribution is generally held the third Saturday of December and July from 10am to 12pm, but please check the client calendar to verify the dates.
